Hi. My name is Hans-Peter Verhoeven. My friends and colleagues call me H-P. I taught in fE colleges for many years and I am a fully qualified teacher.
I am also a fully qualified assessor. Having gained all the qualifications that I teach I know how hard they can be, which is why I try and in a sympathetic and engaging way.
We sometimes use outsourced tutors and they are fully qualified and experienced and usually personal friends of mine.
I learned much of my teaching style thanks to the patience and understanding of my tutors when I was a student and my colleagues when I taught in colleges. I owe them much and I hope that my experiences have made me better able to help others studying for their electrotechnical exams.

My vision for MET is to be the best. Not the biggest or most profitable, just the best.
I ask my candidates anonymously what they do and don’t like about the courses and I put as many of their suggestions into practice as I can.
They tell me they love the small informal nature of the groups. They love the fact that we try and have a bit of fun on the way. They are always surprised at how much they are able to remember and they tell me they appreciate the effort the tutors put into supporting them. They tell me they feel well prepared for their exams and they like the fact that the tutors are enthusiastic about their subject and have lots of anecdotes related to the subjects being taught.
They love the way they can just pick up a coffee when it suits them and breaks are frequent. What I don’t ask is how they feel when they have passed their assessments, I don’t need to because it’s written all over their faces! And that is why I love teaching!

Becoming an Electrician

I had a candidate come in for his 2392 the other week and when I advised him to test his continuity using the Method 2 (wander lead or R2 method) for his assessment to save time, he said that as he had been shown the R1+R2 test method, that was the method he would use.
